Born on December 1, 1988 in Columbus, Ohio, he is the lead singer of the band. As a child, he was homeschooled and is currently a practicing Christian. He engaged Jenna Black on July 8,2014 and married her a year after on March 28,2015. He had three siblings, two whom are his brothers, Zack and Jay and a sister named Madison. He was offered a basketball scholarship at Otterbein University but rejected it after seeing a songwriter perform at a High Street club. Instead he began to play and imitate radio melodies after finding an old keyboard in his closet.
Josh Dun was also born in Colombus, Ohio. However he has two sisters, Ashley and Abigail and one brother, Jordon. He is the drummer of the band and was born on June 18,1988. Dun was in a relationship from May 2013 to Septemeber 2014. He taught himself how to play the drums in a young age by playing at the electronic drum kit at his local instrument store. At March 2010, he played for the House of Heroes when the band's drummer, Colin Rigsby wanted to have more time with his family. A year later he officially became a full time drummer for Twenty One Pilots after Nick Thomas and Salih left.
